Hello, I grabbed this sandblasted, well worn Comoys Old Bruyere. Comoy doesn’t appear to have an apostrophe “s”. The COM is “Made in London” in a straight line over “England” and the shape number is 186. The “C” on the stems has cracks, I haven’t seen that before.

I believe Your correct it dates post war or so. I believe Old Bruyere used different stamping. I not 100% on that so. They carried on the arched stamp when other lines were straight and fonts, etc. if that makes sense. Maybe others can add more information. The Com is later.

The cracks are pretty common and even so, pretty durable. Some put clear nail polish on them. I've filled with white acrylic paint, then sand smooth. Anthony Cook has a process that works brilliantly, but he wisely wouldn't divulge his secret! I usually let well-enough alone.

I think the Old Bruyere stamping can be a tough one. I'm assuming the marking was all made with one stamp. Serifs but no apostrophe... The COM looks like the stamping used on Comoy's Sandblasts. Note also what appears to be the "skinny" C... So dating the pipe...don't no. Does it have the metal reinforced tenon? Cracks in the C, very common. Whatever the date it was a well used pipe!
