I was enjoying a bowl of some 2019 PS Luxury Navy Flake a couple days ago, and just zoning out and not really putting a lot of thought into it.
I’ve always like Virginia’s, and I usually get some general sweetness and what I had always considered “Virginia flavor” - close to the grassy notes one reads in descriptions and reviews.
About halfway through the bowl, I realized my interpretation of that taste/flavor sensation had changed and I was interpreting it as citrus/lemon, along with the normal mild sweetness.
Did I just witness a slight maturation of my pallet, or was it maybe a mild stroke? (I kid :) )
Will have another bowl today and report back.

A lot of light virginias are like that, often seem to be topped with more of the same. Orange on Orlik, honey/lemon on Ashton Gold Rush, and highly debatable, a little citrus on Germain Gold Leaf (although the claim is that it's inherent in the leaf).

Interesting. I know I have some that are topped that way -Ashton specifically, but haven’t tried it yet.
This seemed different, I can only compare it to one of those geometric shape posters where you look at it and eventually a shape pops out - that’s what this felt like - the same “bright Virginia” flavor I’ve always had, but suddenly interpreted it differently.
Regardless, it was enjoyable :)
