Been working on carving myself a pipe. Currently, the chamber walls are a half inch thick. Is there any drawback to having such thick chamber walls other than weight?
I’ve done it all with a wood carving knife, gouge and sand paper. Man, carving briar is tough! I’ve carved tons of toys and animals for my daughter, but that’s usually bass wood. Briar is another story!
Finally finished! Turned out better than I had hoped at the beginning, especially without power tools. Not bad for a first attempt I figure. Now hopefully it doesn’t crack on its’ maiden voyage.
