Am getting back into pipe smoking and have 2 Briar pipes, one Stanwell and 1 Savinelli. Am looking at getting a Meerschaum. Had a Calabash Meerschaum years ago but that got lost with the rest of my pipes. Not really looking for another Calabash style but would like advice on a decent Meerschaum that's not too expensive.
Thanks - Toadshade

Hello Toadshade,
When I was starting out a friend gave me a no-name meerschaum, a bent egg with shitty drilling but a good enough draw, and I've really come to love that pipe immoderately. I'd recommend the shape, for starters, straight sides, u-shaped bowl, always neutral tasting and a pleasure to smoke. I tend to smoke Va/O blends like McC's Grand Orientals in mine. Not sure why, but it works. I've been oggling the WGM meers and the ATPs too on Smokingpipes, where I've always had good experiences.
