Is it OK to buy a whole cellar content? A neighbor tells me they still have pipe tobacco tins from his passed father-in-low from 2015 (2016?).

He supposed to send me photos of the tins today. The only brand he could remember was Dunhill, I still don't know about the rest of the tins or how many are there.

Overall, is it a good idea to buy the whole cellar? I am very new in this field and still learning almost everyday and this buy would be a big expense for me.

I'll share the photos when I get them.

No offense, but this is either really cool or just bait.

Looking forward to to pictures and/or lists ...

[edit: Apologies for the custionary tone. I just don't see the quantary in considering the complete purchase of a personal inventory.]

The short answer is definitely yes.

Considerations:

The contents and condition of the cellar
Your budget
Your ability to transport/store the tobacco

Personally, if the contents were in good shape and I was close with the neighbor I would purchase the items I was interested in and offer to help find a buyer for the rest.

If I were less close to the neighbor, I may buy the lot, keep what I want and sell or trade the rest.

This is just kind of the start. There are other options and scenarios.

Nope. Been here all along. I just don't post out my ass every day for the sake of posting. More like 40 years, by the way

In the new age of AI, a level of caution is justified. I'm deciding on proactivity when suspicious. But thanks for being the better-minded buddy ..

... ;)

With respect, could we please not police each other’s grammar, etc? I gladly own up to my own egregious typos, misspellings and erroneous auto-corrections but if everyone felt the need to point them out, that wouldn’t be so great.

Yeah, that was crazy! I followed it to the very happy ending. Happy puffing for sure puffy !!!
