I recall reading a thread here about Brooks Brothers pipe-tobacco and the question was asked, "who made it for them? Let's see...

The label on the Brooks Brothers 346 jar shown in the image below states, "Factory No. 45 Dist. of Va." Factory 45 in Virginia was a Larus & Brother Company facility. Larus & Brother Company was the manufacturer of Edgeworth pipe-tobacco, both sliced and ready-rubbed, so I believe that they were contracted by Brooks Brothers to private-label that tobacco (probably the ready-rubbed version) for them.
