Gonna be a lonnngggg 2 days in the shop doing a rush order for a customer... starting the night off with a bowl of Stokkebye's Optimum in my Dr Grawbow Tru-Grain while I polish the blade, then swap over to MM cob shop pipes.

5 hours and a couple of bowls later in the shop cobs here we are. 1 gallon of elbow grease and 10 sheets of sandpaper the blade has a clean 800 grit finish.
Feel free to comment on my pipes or whatever. I know my stuff ain't fancy but it's what I like :)

I love my two Grabow Royal Duke bulldogs. They're similar to yours, but rusticated. Is yours a stinger or push-stem? Mine are newer production, so 6mm push-stem. Hard to go wrong with a cob, too.

It has a stinger, I do a lot of cleaning to keep it from stopping up. Took me a little while to learn to be very diligent on cleaning my stinger pipes.

Corncob and pig sticker, perfect combination. I like that blade, pic or my eyes are not great, but it looks like a full tang and solid!

I don't care for stingers, but I wish I had one of those older Grabows anyway. The grain was much nicer, and the pipes seemed to be better executed overall. Like a lot of mass-produced items, older seems to equal better quality.

Thanks Ford, it's a hidden tang. The advantage of forging blades is I use a looootttt less steel than a stock removal guy making the same knife lol It's 9" of pain for a CW5 pilot's retirement.

Got the fighter delivered with 20 minutes to spare lol 8 1/2" blade, claro walnut handle with blued steel guard.

Going to redo the sheath in black, had to have "pants" for delivery.

I have no idea why it's upside down... it's the right way on my files and photobucket... guess it's for people South of the Equator lol
Thanks, his wife loves it, hope he does too.

Yeah... they're friends and customers, friends first. He had me make her a dagger for their wedding anniversary. LOL He's wanted a knife from me for years. His retirement from the Army gave her an excuse to do it. She's not the normal wife, she loves firearms, she has a 60 acre horse training/boarding farm. She's a former world champ in Hunter (I think?) and she's most likely to be found wearing jeans and poop covered boots than in a dress lol He's retiring as an Army CW5 pilot.
