Upon opening a sample package kindly sent to me by jb, I jumped at the chance to try a new to me Burley.
Started with Boswell's Premium Burley. The tobacco looks to be a shag cut and packs & takes a light quite easily.
With a quick false light, soft tamp and light, the tobacco gave off volumes of smoke with the slightest sip and kept a nice smolder easily. The taste & flavors were nice, but quite soft, with the casings barely detectable.
Honestly, I found this one to be a bit light for me, so I mixed a bowl 50-50 with Boswell's Old School, which is said to have a bit more strength. This combination was simply sublime! Definitely more backbone, smooth, nutty, bready, bit of molasses - delish!
In my appreciation and search for tasty burley blends, I've been gifted one that is 4/4 stars.
