My first commission I left in the capable hands of Mike Billington of Blakemar Briars. After coming across an old Peterson's shape from the time of the Boer War, later seen in their 1906 catalogue. His first attempt revealed a flaw in the briar, so he rusticated that one & kept it for himself.
Picked up mine yesterday & am over the moon with it.

@frozenchurchwarden that is well summed up. Mike’s pipes are excellent smokers and I hope he has an apprentice or two to carry on the family craft. The six I have bought from him were delivered within two days.
