Also a vote for Old Joe Krantz here. It's just an awesome all day blend as well.
Yep, I'll second... er third... er... well, I agree.
The buggers are the mindless smokes
Very good point. I didn't even think of those, guess that's how mindless they are. Working on a big issue at work, which usually parks me in front of my computer is a perfect example. You chain smoke without even thinking about it.

I'm currently in the quiting process too. So far getting excited about new blends and exercise has been helping. I recently made a random purchase of a whole bunch of SG blends that never seemed interesting before, and look forward to trying them. Being on forums has also helped in creating a pseudo pipe environment that is harder to find locally.
Good luck making the change! Lot of people in the same boat.

http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/bonded-vs-non-bonded-nicotine This thread will help you understand the difference nicotine plays in pipe and cigars vs. cigarettes. Basically cigarette nicotine is like the crack cocaine of nicotine. It will just take time to get used to it. My cousin is a cigarette smoker and he'll smoke cigarettes while he's smoking a cigar which really pisses me off.

If you're looking to give up cigs, I strongly recommend Swedish snus if you can get it. Plus a pipe for the he times you can sit back and relax properly - a totally different experience.
