Anyone who has done any home blending have any recommendations on their preferred retailer to purchase from? Quality and selection are more important than price. Just looking to mess around with it. Thanks!
Hadn’t thought of them More to the mix!I think Sutliff has more variety than C&D but my choice would be Stokkebye who also has blending tobacco that’s pretty damn good.
kbven.com currently has some interesting blending varietals for home DIYers
Oh dear, I'm sorry; you're in trouble now (his wares are very tempting)!I seriously didn’t think there was another tobacco related site I hadn’t heard of ??
Much appreciated!

Is that something you have some experience with? Would love to learn more about itYou could also consider getting some whole leaf and playing with that. Way more bang for your buck

If I were going to blend I'd get some of these blending tobaccos from Dan Tobacco (under the Torben Dansk label), and McConnell (from K&K).

Yes. Whole leaf tobacco sells a variety of virginias, latakia, burley etc. They come very dry so there's a bit of a knack to working with them but the results can be very good. They have a forum called fair trade tobacco which is very good if you want to learn more about working with whole leaf.
The reason for the suggestion is that I think many of the blending tobaccos we have available here just aren't very good (try smoking them on their own). I think somehow people believe that combining mediocre tobaccos results in some form of alchemy where they become 'more than the sum' of the ingredients. I think beginning with the best raw materials possible will help improve the outcome.Figures. I made a ridiculously large purchase a month ago. Wish I would have picked some up then. Thanks for the heads up
