Battle Of The Bulk Virginias

I recently smoked a bowl of Sutliff Virginia slices and was quite surprised. Very nice taste, and I can only imagine what some age could bring. What do you guys consider the best BULK Virginia, in your opinions?

A serious answer, though it’s atypical, Synjeco Bad Nun. It’s unlike anything else. Identical or close to it to G&H Westmorland Slices and somewhat similar to SG Lakeland Dark but without the burley so it fits.

So far, Sutliff 515 RC-1 is head and shoulders above any bulk Virgina I’ve tried. In fact I like it more than virtually every straight Virginia I’ve tried period except for Capstan Blue and Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake.

Yes sir! Also Newminster 400 is better than Sutliff slices IMO and I think even cheaper.

1.5 lbs PS LNF
1 lb Sutliff 507c Virginia Slices
1 lb Newminster 400 SNF

I'm smoking my first bowl ever of the Sutliff, but I've had the other two. I think they're all three good for the money.

I’ll second, third and forth C&D Yorktown. It took me 10-15 bowls to “get” it, but now I crave it constantly. It’s layers and layers of VA goodness

Newminster 400 SNF is great, too. It’s got my all time favorite tin (bag?) note...it’s mouthwatering...and it smokes nice, too.

Newminster 400 is a superb Va Flake. What an incredible bargain it is. While i know they aren't technically bulk, I consider brands that sell 8 oz and 1 lb cans or boxes to be bulk. Which opens bulk choices up considerably. If you're looking for good prices on Va blends, C&D Opening Night is awesome. Mac Baren HH Pure Va is awesome but not quite as much of a bargain.
