EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title - Bob

Hello, I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a bit so I know this is the place to get some answers.
Anyway, I picked up an estate Barling a few years ago and finally got around to cleaning it up and looking into it's history. As best as I can tell, this may be a Pre- trans Barling but wanted to see what the experts here could tell me about it. Any info would be appreciated. thanks,

It is pre-transition, but that is all I got for you. Nice looking pipe! I am a smooth pipe guy, but there is something about yours that draws me in.

A post -war, pre-trans Barling, 1946 - 1961. Looks to be in very good condition, nice blast on that one.

I'm pretty please with how the stem turned out with the exception of the teeth marks. I don't feel qualified to try to repair those

There's nothing under the stem. I can't confirm it is the original stem. Thanks for the info!

Assuming original stem, based on what I have seen, retail would be $300-$400.

It's an EL size, stem shows depressions from toothmarks, and prices on vintage Britwood are down, but it has an attractive blast, market on this is more like $200 to $220. WIthout the nice blast it would be closer to $135 to $170. I've been seeing pretty nice EXEXELs selling in this price range in the last few months, pipes that would have gone for considerably more a couple of years ago.

Interesting.
I have a general question that I have not been able to find an answer to - What does TVF stand for or mean?
