EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) - Bob

Was just given a lovely Erik Nording from 1998 with a nice bit of bamboo between the briar shank and the stem. As I was inspecting it, I noticed that one of the nodes (a spot where a bamboo branch would emerge) was missing. I held my thumb over the bowl and blew and, yep, it's a hole into the shank. Anyone else patched a section of bamboo before?

The reflected light points to the part of the shank where the node (if that is the right term) is missing.

I agree that it could be a bug hole, or it just got poked with something.
I would probably use wood filler and then stain to match the bamboo?
