I always feel a little bit awkward after hearing thank you for your service. Because there are so many guys and gals out there who I look up to who don’t wear any uniform and selflessly contribute to society much more than me. I just feel lucky to still be able to be a small cog in the wheels.

So I guess the best reply -other than thank you very much of course- is what I stole from an Army Ranger buddy of mine: “You’re worth it!”

Thank you for your service. I've seen the incredible focus it takes to land one of those things on a carrier. Have any fun stories about that sort of thing?

I’ve definitely lost a few hairs on a couple night traps. Let’s just say they probably had to replace an ejection seat cushion or two.

The Navy doesn’t have to pay me to fly during the day. I would do that for free.

The Navy doesn’t pay me enough to fly at night. Lol

My job in the Navy Reserve is Red Air / Adversary training. Just got home from 'fighting' against one of our aircraft carriers as they prepare for deployment.
Thanks for the photos!

If you do another training assault, next time just airdrop a bunch of long forms with instructions that they are required immediately to maintain government benefits & pension eligibility.

That'll keep everyone busy and THEN you do the real attack...

Hope you all had a good start to October.

when I was in high school I wanted to join the Dutch royal airforce. Slim chance I would make it as I was allready nearing 6 foot at 14 years old, when I graduated I was a bit to tall. I only wanted to fly jets (DRAF doesnt own any other jets or bombers than F16 and in the future F35), also got a offer to fly AH64 or CH47 which had a bigger lenght restriction and untill now I sometimes regret not taking it.
