Spamers and trolls are a pain. I recently has some jackass file a complaint against me for an ad I had on Facebook Marketplace. The ad was for an original Warner Brothers artist drawing of Bugs Bunny! puffy

I'll say it again
why doesnt the forum have an "All new members first post is reviewed before appearing rule"
This would stop spammers and works on other forums.Irealise it increases workload of mods but would keep board clean and avoid above problems
THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE A CRITISISM OF THE MODS,who do a good job
Manpower.
I run the FB page for the subdivision that I grew up in. I have new members on moderation. It is time-consuming. I usually can't look at their posts immediately, so when that don't see their missives post haste, or in a few hours, it discourages them from returning to the page. Not ideal, but it does keep the duct-cleaning and car warranty posts off the page.

Yes, sometimes large pains, but the spam that does get through here (this past week excepted) is small stuff. I've been a member of a usenet (BB type) for 20+ years, and a half dozen half wits post the most and have brought its usefulness to near zero. These are destructive types who'd be happy to close the BB. Sick and nasty people.

Such matters interest me. Could you share what the alleged transgression was about, please? And were specific damages specified? (presumably the number of $$ he was seeking.)

yes I am a member of a hifi forum and it took 3 days for my first post to be approved, but there is rarely any spam.
I seemed frustrating at the time but in my opinion ,it works

I'm not sure, but I think your question is intended for me... Facebook didn't give me any details about the complaint and no $ was mentioned. I just brought their attention to the ad and that was that. Herd no more about it. puffy

Yes, anytime my post immediately follows someone else's, or I use "Reply" which brings in the name of the person I am asking, it's for that person.
