Having been in the hunt for years for specific Pipes, I know the joy

that comes with finally acquiring rare old Pipes. Good for you and

may you enjoy this one for years to come.

If i recall correctly, isnt the stems on those made of turkey or goose wing bone? Those things are so cool!

That pipe has a super ring grain pattern and a wonderful deep blast.

I hope it turns out to be one hellava smoker, because it sure does

look comfortable. That's the kind of pipe you can spend hours looking

at and touching while you smoke it; and discover something new every

time you pick it up. Nice grab Art.

I haven't "lusted" for one but they have always intrigued me. If it smokes as well as it looks, your in for a treat.

Congratulations.

From my reading the original pipes of this type used albatross bone for the stem . Later on goose bone was used due to a shortage of albatross bone. At any rate It looks like it will be as good a smoker as looker! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

How big is that pipe? It looks churchwarden-sized, but massive. Don't sprain a wrist smoking it!
