My wife and I were out running errands and decided to stop by one of the local antique stores.
I found a case with a unique four place pipe rack, an older cob and a very sturdy looking full bend Rhodesian.
I had the owner open the case, so I could examine the goods.
The pipe rack is handmade and in amazingly good shape. It will require only a little cleaning. For $14, I had to have it. It’s mounted to a rotating base which works without a hitch.
The cob is a Dr. Grabow. I didn’t have a Grabow cob. Might’ve been smoked once or twice. Very clean.
The best find of all and the one I got extremely excited over was another House of Robertson pipe! You may have seen me post about this local Boise, Idaho Carver before. In the last year I have been able to find and purchase three other House of Robertson pipes.
This pipe is ruggedly handsome, sturdy and will be an easy cleanup. The stem has minor chatter and expected oxidation. The inside of the bowl will require minor scraping and cleaning. The rim of the bowl has wonderful handcarved accents with no burn marks or built up carbon.
