The U.S. factory pipe maker numbers seem to be dropping. How many do you know? There's Dr. Grabow, which seems to be the last high volume maker, although down in production from the old days I think. Kaywoodie is still at it to some degree and seems to be making some house pipes, although I'm not sure how many alternate brands it makes. Does Kaywoodie also own and make Medico and Yello-Bole? The European factory pipe makers still seem relatively robust -- to mention Dunhill, Savinelli, Butz-Choquin, Chacom, Stanwell, and others. The U.S. makers seem to be just hanging on or fading. Mysteriously, Brylon pipes seem to retain a small but steady market, with whom I cannot guess. Of course there is the ever durable Missouri Meerschaum which is certainly a factory maker. I think Old Dominion, because of its size, is more of an artisanal operation. Does anyone have a more complete knowledge of the U.S. factory pipe industry over all?

I can't speak for the whole industry, but I know BriarWorks is one company that's really stepping up the American factory pipe game: http://www.smokingpipes.com/smokingpipesblog/single.cfm/post/briarworks-raising-the-bar
