There are certain times when nothing hits the spot like the brothers. Really takes me back to my college days at Young Harris, UGA, and Tech. I was rockin!

I even went one further and married a Cajun woman.
So, rdavid, when are you breaking out the Etoufee? I love that dish only a southerner can make properly. I make it with littleneck clams...dang it's good!

I used to pipe music from my mp3 player headphones into our HMMMV intercom while we traversed accross Afghanistan. To this day, I can hear the engine noise, smell the interior of that vehicle, and see the countryside pass by when I hear Jessica.
My son and I sing Whipping Post in the car.
The Allman Brothers are amazing.
Watch out! They will eat your soul, not to mention your bank account!
My ex is from Louisiana. She is a soul sucking hosebeast, for sure. I don't label all Southern women, though.

Live from Fillmore East got me through many an essay in college. The newer releases contained "Mountain Jam." I think parts of that version have become engrained in my DNA. I was able to see the newer incarnations of the band in 1999 with Dickey and a few more times after he was "let go." Their music is such a blessing engrained with many emotions in the words and the playing. Their music has turned me onto other great bands like Gov't Mule, Derek Trucks Band, and Tedeschi Trucks Band. I have yet to enjoy a pipe while listening but I'm pretty sure it will be a great experience.

Thanks for all the posts everyone, it was fun reading; I think, unfortunately, however, we could all agree that the probability of another band in the same genre with the same level of talent occurring again in our lifetime, is quite low. With the culture today, you'd probably trigger someone just by saying the phrase 'southern rock'. Oh well. There's always Bluegrass!!!!
