The pipes look like nothing Einstein was ever photographed smoking, if that matters. I think a prospective buyer would have to do a lot of research to evaluate the probabilities that the letter of provenance is accurate. A lot of personal effects wander around the world and look romantic and evocative, but don't have a sure narrative. Did Einstein's sculptor daughter have a pipe smoking boyfriend? Etc. Etc. They don't look like Albert to me, just from the photos I've seen and his personality as I have visualized it. The description in the letter doesn't convince me, and pipes were much more widely smoked in 1955 than they are today. If they weren't his, it's a subtle scam.
