After One Year of Smoking…

After slightly more than one year of smoking and trying LOTS of different things, here are a few subjective observations:

1. Escudo makes me happy.
2. I don’t like the smell or flavor of Latakia.
3. Most aromatics give me tongue bite (even if I dry them/pack differently/slow down)
4. Savinelli makes a really nice pipe (thanks to my wife for a recent gift).

That’s all I’ve got from year one.

Off to a good start! Learning what you like and don't like certainly helps with future to-try TAD orders. Honing your knowledge and spending your money on blends you have a higher chance of liking is always a plus. I refer to this as my personal research and development. Kudos.

Great observations. I agree with @Piping Abe. If you get a well crafted artisan pipe, the experience you have with a blend you already love will blow your mind. At least that’s how it was for me. I acquired my first artisan pipe less than a month ago.
