Advice on selling tobacco

Thought I best post this on the general board rather than the actual selling board. I’m still a long way off having the requirements to post on the selling area, but I’ll get there eventually and when I do, I’ll start to streamline my cellar. I’ve got a load of tins that I’ve collected over the years, but as my pallet had developed and I want to get rid of some to finance my favs.

I’m in the UK and the pipe smoking scene here is very scant, so I guess my best market for selling is overseas, but I’m not sure what the legalities of selling tobacco overseas to Europe or America etc are - any advice or knowledge from the community would be helpful.

Here us my opinion but I am not an expert. Since the UK is longer EU a customs declaration will necessary this also would apply the US. I myself would not put socks instead of pipe tobacco. The buyer must always be aware that they are responsible for any duties or taxes. I woul use pipe tobacco because there are different tax schedules for different tobacco products. My 2 cents. If you sell in the UK box it up and gone.

I also would not suggest crossing customs borders. There are plenty of UK pipe smokers. Also prices for tobacco are lower in many places. Your home market is the best choice.

Referring to above posts, every parcel entering continental EU from outside of the EU commercial zone be it from the States or Britannia are subject to inspection and added VAT , there are still fait hope that in the coming years things may change

Yes, selling to the US might hit your wallet. Tobacco is pretty cheap here.
Currently GLP blends are $11, I just restocked a bunch.

@Sig is correct tobacco is just to cheap in the US unless you have a unicorn blends. You are probably better off trying to sell in the UK. If you like put a few items on the forum and see if any bites.

I've posted in the past to the USA and English customs returned it to me. No explanation. Post what you want to sell UK buyers may buy it all

I have quite a few tins of germains latakia blends if you want to trade them. I've lost interest in latakia and would take most any virginia blends for them.

Another vote for sell/trade within the UK. Especially these days when customs are being more aggressive in tit-for-tat responses to US tariffs. Stuff is being nabbed right and left.
