@Briar Lee. Does it burn well in a Lee Pipe or does it leave any goopy residue?
It’s about a third black cavendish, and the balance mostly burley with enough Virginia to market it as Black and Gold.
There’s casing or top dressing that tastes like Juicy Fruit chewing gum, and may be the same stuff used to flavor Bengal Slices. It doesn’t overpower the tobacco. I can taste the sweet black Cavendish, and there’s nutty burley, with a touch of citrus from the Virginia.
It comes in a half pound package, that sells for about $9.
The cost to make it is likely $1.50, the tax is $1.50, the merchant makes $1.50, and the rest is profit.
This is genuine, high quality, honest pipe tobacco. It would be too wet to roll a cigarette with.
A one and a half ounce package of super premium black and gold cavendish pipe tobacco also sells for about nine dollars.
If you had a blind taste test, it would be hard to tell them apart.
And whatever residue it leaves, comes out with a twisted paper towel soaked in Everclear, the same as any other tobacco.
If this was the only tobacco you had, you’d be smoking that good s##t.
