Ad Photo for Chicago Pipe Show

I'm just curious... the Ad for the Chicago Pipe Show that appears on PipesMagazine at the home page ... it's a picture of a pipe on a desk with small pile of tobacco in front of it. I may be wrong, but that sure looks like a Greg Pease photograph. Anyone else seeing that?

Thanks! I doubt it's Greg's. There's nothing in focus in that photo and it's under exposed—though all that could be for an artistic expression.

Yes, I see that now. At first glance I thought the edge of the pipe closest to the camera lense was in focus, but after closer inspection it doesn't appear it is. I guess I was going off the lighting and his propensity to use depth of field in his photo's along with interesting yet simple composition. It's not uncommon for one part of his photos to be out of focus while a pipe or a tin is, at least from my observations.

But I think your right.

A nice technique, emphasizing the object by using depth of field (or PS tools) to soften the focus on everything else.
