Sadly this acrylic solvent didn't work either. So it's off to Peterson to refinish the entire bowl.

Did you try acetone? I'd use it sparingly to start and try to stay on the "spots". Usually it'll soften it right up.

MEK will soften acrylic.

I wouldn't recommend going anywhere near the stuff though. Nasty, nasty chemical.

Acetone should work I would think. Just allow it to evaporate completely before proceeding and maybe clean it after with something like Everclear.
MEK is pretty nasty stuff really though I used to almost take baths in the stuff!!! ;-(( It is however a very powerful solvent and should work, but again I would recommend a very prolonged evaporation period and for sure an alcohol cleanup after...several times!!!

Back in the 1970s, some professional bowlers cheated by soaking polyester bowling balls in MEK to make the surface softer so the ball would hook more. It's got to be pretty nasty if it can soften a bowling ball.
