As most of you probably know, and if not, you can see by the photo in the original post, no two meers will color the same. Even if you had two identical pipes from the same large block of meerschaum, carved by the same carver, smoked them the same number of times, with the same tobacco; they will not color the same. It's just the way it goes with a natural material. Meerschaum pipes made from higher quality meerschaum should color better than lesser grade meerschaum, but I've seen some low-quality meerschaum pipes with amazing coloring. It's completely random.
