I have a Savinelli Baronet Bruyere Author that will smoke a wet tobacco like no other. It may have to do with the shape, since the bowl is conical and very wide at the top. It has thick walls and nice open draft. If Popeye had this pipe, he could've smoked his spinach.
My tastes may have changed since when I bought it, as I probably wouldn't be inclined to buy such a shape nowadays, but I'm glad the purchase happened when it did.

Pipes & Cigars has them for $52. It's money well spent.

That's a great shape dudley.

I like it a lot. And I do believe Popeye could have emptied his whole can of spinach

in that thing! lol.

No kidding about the whole can. If the grid is in 1" squares, that's a huge pipe!
It's about 1/32 of an inch from being 2" across the top. With it's thick walls, it is much lighter than it seems it would be. Almost like an illusion.

The Savinelli 316 is my pipe of choice. I have 9 different variations of it now. The only issue though with that big draft is if you exert yourself with it in your mouth and give it a little blow...the fire will flip over in a puff of ash. lol I love'em though.

I can definitely picture that happening! I'm lucky it hasn't happened. With the pipe I posted, I sometimes smoke it while watching TV or reading and reclining on some pillows on the bed. The pipe is just the right size to let it sit on my chest while I'm smoking it.

A smoke shop in town carries Baronet Bruyeres, though I haven't seen the bulldog. In the video, the pipe looks like a weapon. Fast Forward to :30.

It could probably double as a shillelagh.

Nice weapon! lol Your baronet bruyere is also one of my favorite styles because you can hold it by the stem like a cigar and it doesnt try to flip over like rounder ones. I heat'em up sometimes and thats a nice feature when the bowl gets hot.
