Jesse's (@sablebrush52) OP in the "Show Us Your Barlings" thread was a jaw-drop moment for me. And kick-started a love of old Britwoods.

I have finally landed one of my white whales - a 1905 bent billiard Motor Dome.
The shank is stamped L & Co in an oval for Tiffany and Co.
The stummel and silverware are in excellent condition.
The stem needs some remedial action.

I will post some "after" pics when I have tidied it up

Now there is "pigeon pair" with its sibling - a straight Billiard Motor Dome

very nice.
Doesnt l&co in an oval = loewe & co
I know you are talking about the stummel and not the hallmark but the old Loewe's pipes I had had the same stamping as the hallmark

Paul,
You could very well be correct.
I was taking the word of the vendor and did not do any of my own research.
Loewe and Co seems much more likely than Tiffany & Co.

I was going to say the same about the stummel stamp being Loewe. Certainly, Barling being the renowned silver smiths, they did work for many a pipe marque in that era.
Though, in my experience, all the older Loewe pipes I've owned and seen have been done by Robert Dumenil (RD).
Granted, I've also learned there's always an exception one way or another. A pipe in hand is worth a dozen photographs.
