I think the European pipe market is dominated by 9 mm filter pipes. I have only one, and smoke it with and without the filters. A filter can be good when you are smoking more than usual, at a pipe show or club, or just on the weekend. Also, for trying out especially strong blends to get a measure of their kick. My one 9mm is a Kemperling Austrian pipe, a smooth bent Rhodesian, gifted by my sister who traveled there; don't see them offered much online.

9mm is my number 1 choice. I guess la mso said, the local market here promotes them and I just got used to them, to the point it may feel weird and have to be a bit more attentive when I smoke a filterless pipe. The pipe the op posted is really nice, although out of range for Europe.

Sometimes the online sites will price down the 9 mm pipes a little for the U.S. market, and you can get some good deals that way. If you don't like the filters, just smoke them without or if you want a little more focused airway, use an adaptor.
