Looks like was a lawyer for the communications industry.
He may still be alive. Google is showing him to be 82, which seems too young to me for 1960. He would have been 19, I think.

Since finding Ehrlich pipes I've acquired 9 of them, 7 briar and 2 meer with 14k bands, love them and a tie in with family history (at least location wise)!

There was a Whittle pipe up on flea bay, it's been smoked but still in the original block form, i think someone didn't "get it" lol

Fun stuff! I have a cased Ehrlich Meerschaum nudie cutie that I bought decades ago, and I have several of their Briar pipes, all of which smoke well.

Same guy selling the huge lot of pipes on flew bay, his lifelong friend passed away and he was selling the collection one pipe at a time for his friend's widow, had an unsmoked Ehrlich meer cigar holder that went for $20 ... i was in a parking lot watching the timer go down, tried to bid with 5 minutes left and it kept freezing up on me and i never got the bid in ... really really upset at that one and it was the app not the inter web connection. 20 freaking dollars... le sigh. It's the one from the catalog you posted with the gold band .. only 5 bucks more than when it was new.

Picked this up for $19 ... pretty hard to beat. It's got one big ol fill in it and the guy really went to town on the rim "cleaning" it, but still for the price i'll take it.
