Vegas Baby!!!
The other day a tin of Half and Half was posted so I decided to open a can I’ve had for a few years. I purchased it from Pipestud and he tossed in another tub that looks like a barrel of undetermined age.

I opened the tin and a pouch today. The barrel has been getting smoked off and on for a few years.

The contents of the barrel was bone dry and rehydrated just fine and was okay. Just okay. Still better than fresh, but just okay.

When I took the church key to the tin and barely opened it, it hissed for about ten seconds. Immediately I got excited. The smell was fantastic. It smelled like codger heaven. The tin is by The American Tobacco Company.

The moisture content is absolutely perfect. It’s a great smoke. I’m already mourning when this tin is gone.

The fresh pack is wet, smells like gym shorts after a long day of working. It has a kinda licorice-odd musty thing going for it. The fresh is by Scandinavian Tobacco Group Lane Ltd.

The fresh smoke is harsh, just like I’ve had before. Not exactly a fan.

Here are the pictures

My father tried a pipe back in 70s. Didn't last long. He was cigarette smoker. But I distinctively remember Half & Half pouch he had. So, that was the first OTC I tried. I won't say it was bad. But just too much going on that just didn't work for me. That 60s look amazing.

love that insert. I often wonder why pipe tobaccos/pipes/and even more so nasal snuff doesn't come with instructions. I think there could be more fans of all of them if people knew how to enjoy them properly. The thing is these days they could even have one of those things you scan with your phone that gives first timers hints on how to get a good smoke or not ruin ones sinuses with snuff.

Though I did smoke one small box of Carter Hall, after years of hearing about it, which tasted like a good burley and which I liked, mostly OTCs made me shiver with a mysterious dread, and I avoided them more or less entirely with the exception of the aberration above.

I came to the brilliant conclusion that if they cost less they must not be as good as Pease or C&D, etc. Also they had about them the stink of the common man, and as everyone knew, I was better than that.

I smoked some that was probably from the late 60’s early 70’s, came in 1 5/8 oz vend box. Dried out, I rehydrated it, not much taste to it, somewhat bitey.

So I can say I smoked some old Half and Half... I got goin for me.
