I don't know what the makes are yet, I am going on Saturday @ 2:00pm for a look at them. The guy just emailed me back with a starter price of $150.00. I know I can get them for lower, it all depends on what is there. The stands are also included with it.

Ya for sure, most of the stands I will put on here for sale very cheap, as I don't use them. Also many of the pipes as well, prob in the 10-$20 range. I am looking for a very few select models for myself now. I think the one pipe there looks like a sea-rock, unless I am mistaken.

I think there's a pretty nice looking meer in the third stand back. I recently got a lot of 20 pipes in a private sale including GBD, Ropp, Shamrock, Hardcastle and a Tanganyika rough meer for a little shy of $200 so I think you've got a good deal shaping up here.

Can't wait to see up close pics when you get them home. That will be a nice haul and a lot of fun to clean-up to smoke/resell.

Fish:
I buy a lot of estate pipes and a lot of Boy Scout patches. Large lots like this one can be a double edged sword. In one light, you'll be paying a lot of money to get one or two prized pipes/patches or you'll get the bargain of a lifetime from somebody too lazy to research the market and piecemeal them out.
However, I've walked away from deals like this in the past where that one item can't outweigh the fact that everything else is OTC, beat up to hell and gone and the seller won't budge on the declared price. From your avatar, I'll guess you've been around the block a few times and have drunk from the well, so these are hardly cautionary words to a newb. (I'm just thinking and writing out loud to a guy you were more than kind to when I first signed on.)
Like everybody else I'm just as curious to find out what you find out this weekend.
Cheers, mate.

Ya mate, thanks for the advice. You are correct in many ways for sure. I have drunk from the well, seen the varmit, and fallen in the well a time or 2 also. I have walked away from several great buys in the past because although it may have seemed a bargain, it wasn't. All I need in a deal like this, is 3-4 decent pipes for myself as keepers. The rest I intend to part with. There may be many great pipes, as they mostly look quite old, or there may be nothing that strikes me. The best and most fun part of it is, "we shall explore his stash"

It'd be nice to paw through them all and see if you can get your moneys worth. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
As long as you are just as happy to leave empty handed there's nothing wrong with checking it out.
