    Wilderness

By McClelland Highly Recommended This one has lots of Richness and a depth of several different tobaccos going on in the mix Comes off like a very savory English, but not overpowering Seems to get better after having tried say 3-4x

    Blockade Runner

By C&D.... Comes off like Briar Fox Cake soaked in rum Not necessarily a bad thing. Same strong VA loaded with ' N ' very similar character A bit more subdued in taste but a kick nontheless

    Aurora

By McClelland A well made Virginia Suggested. All the best

    Amphora

Amphora was one of the first things I ever smoked and back in that day it was good.....something definitely above average in quality. It was the plain version. This oufit shows another type that may be worth trying: http://rivercitycigarco.com/pipe_tobacco/Pipe%20Tobacco.html

    Nording Freehand

If you are into pipes, these can't be beat. They are Rock Solid, elegant, and good looking if you go for that type. The price is low for what they deliver. Highly recommended. I have not sampled the Hunter tobaccos by Nording. All the best SC

    Blends I have not tried

Wondering is anyone has tried any of the following: Wilderness Aurora Legends Beacon And H&H El Nino Virginia Night Sierra Nevada Fusiliers Ration Any input is helpful SC

    Value, Package Presentation, etc.

Although I did not care for the 1st Mac Baren blend I tried, I liked the next. Also if I were to revisit the 1st I bet it may have grown on me. The one thing I like about Mac Baren definitely is the quantity of tobacco in a tin seems better than many for the dollar. The quality of the tin is...

    GL Pease Odyssey

I am not making sense of the other reviews of this product I have read thus far as it does not seem to be the same product described. The tin note is nonexistent. The smoke seems to be bland and one dimensional with nothing at all to offer. There is no comparison to any other Balkan I have...

    McClelland Syrian Super Balkan

Revisiting this one today and finding some nice richness and subtle character coming through along with some of the spiciness of the perique. The mushroom character seems more predominant when this blend is on the moist side. I seem to prefer it dried out a bit. Its working well today. SC

    Horrible Websight Changes

P&C has redone and devolved their websight in what appears to be a major way. Everything is nonsensically now much harder to locate than the simple straightforward way things " were." Its quite a shame and also a total trend that HTML pages and most software devolves rather than improves in...

    Mac Baren HH Highland

I am giving this one good marks..... The Kick is good, just when a person need such things..... it has some strength but not over the top, but there nontheless Its provides True tobacco flavour, whatever that might be, but its there as well There are subtleties that exist, so its not one...

    About Artifice

All artifice is an attempt to mimick something from creation, so the idea of artifice is flawed from the get go..... If we are working with and from creation, we can go to manifold new heights and places, but as stated above artifice can never succeed Something in the aware person sees and...

    Cornell & Diehl Briar Fox

This tobacco is listed as a smooth " blend " of Virginias and comes in a crumble cake form. The tin aroma is superb and very inviting. Smoking straight Virginia is new thing for me and while it may not be my main thing there is something drawing me back to it although I don't find the taste...

    McClelland Super Balkan

IN the desire to get more acclimated with the Mysterious Perique I have picked this one up as I really their Latakia styles thus far. I am giving this one High marks as well. I think they have balanced the condiment here without going over the top, so as not to scare one off. I can advise this...

    Nording

I am currently smoking a Nording free hand style bent pipe in a red wood grain. I have always loved this style and it is a very fine pipe for the price. If you like the look of these I don't think anyone would be disappointed with how they smoke. Highly reccomended. SC

    Original Danish Black Vanilla

When I was young, it seems aromatics were a starting point eve though I did not know what was what back then. So I have gone to revisit their merits. This one came reccomended on another forum after a somewhat exhaustive search for what people think is the best vanilla. The tin note is...

    Samuel Gawith Skiff Mixture

This one was given high hopes. I was drawn to it naturally and also by some reviews I picked up elsewhere. I found it unsatisfactory or rather borderline. I can smoke it but its not that enjoyable and also it will ghost a pipe heavily which can be corrected after one stops putting it in said...

    Oh Ro the Rattlin Bog.....

Ok P&C DID do it again.....seriously what going on back east with them..... This is truncated Anyway it was a necessary verbal order over the phone The lad said they had said pipe in stock and I should have it by Friday....... Its Tuedsay 9 days out and he then tells me it is out of...

    McClelland Dislikes

I find everything I have from this outfit to be first rate.... I have not however sampled any of their aromatics and find the way they label, flavor, and describe them to be a bit off putting......if not silly. As thus they are not attractive. Possibly I am a bit of a purist. I like to see...

    Pipe Tobacco Then and Now

I had a pipe in my hand before I was 16, way before in fact. When I explored it more seriously I was likely 16 which was around 77. Then I was of course trying out whatever struck my fancy at the local drugstore. Here is a rundown: Amphora - I liked it then...prolly my favorite at that age...
