    Dark Star Advice

I would say keep one tin closed and open the second. Allow it some days to dry out and the what i do is rub it in my palms until fine and smoke it. I have also found that 15-20 seconds in the microwaves helps speed up the drying time.

How Old is the Briar in our Pipes?

There are many misconceptions and myths in this hobby and some of them need to be busted. Where i live RH is 65% - 95% and i find that my VA and VA/ PER blends smoke well after 6 or 7 seconds in the microwave and then letting them rest for 10 minutes or so. If you try it you might find that it works for you too.

    First Try of Dark Star

I never had any issues with DS. I let it sit open in the house for a couple of days and then rub it all out in my hands and put it back in the tin. Perfect moisture and stays lit all the time. Its not that hard once you get used to it. Great taste with huge ageing potentials IMO.
