    Back From Another Absence.

Funny about that. It was some coins that I had rubbed out and stored a while back. Probably comoy or newminster, but there was no label.

    Back From Another Absence.

I haven't had a pipe for months and have just been lurking here for a while. Just started up again yesterday. I guess the cause was a lack of any sort of free time, I was working 6 days a week for a bit, and for now I'm finally in a full-time job and this was my first Saturday off that I was...

Any People Who Practice Kendo? (Japanese Fencing)

Both my parents practiced Kendo for a few years. They both still have their Bokken. Sadly I don't think either of them still have their swords.

    Talk About Discouraging!

I'm right there with ya Redbeard, I graduated college in a field that was supposed to have a ton of opportunities. I however never found them, so I'm working part time at a stable. Now I'm applying for a second part time job just so I can pay my student loans. Good luck on your search.

    Stevie Ray Vaughan (RIP)

I was named after Stevie Ray Vaughan. I'll always remember my Dad telling me that he heard the news on the radio and had to pull off the side of the road, I was in the car seat, I was 4 months old. Needless to say, I grew up on his music and he is my favorite blues player. I only wish that I...

Has anyone else ever bitten through a rubber bit?

Over time some of my softie tips have developed holes, so sometimes I pull them off and change their position just to make them last a bit longer.

    Anyone Else Like Granger?

I've enjoyed the little bit of Granger that I tried, sadly no one local carries it. Not something I would choose every day, but it was enjoyable.

    Any one smoke grass before?

I may have gotten some hay in my pipe without noticing, and probably some feed dust.

    Loses and Fails

I have been lucky enough to avoid any of these issues, however one is bound to happen sometime. I almost had the same issue with the water tipping over the jars, but I found that if you use a cooking pot and pack the jars in so that they are all touching it can be prevented.

Best Use of a Small Bowl

I use my smaller pipes for mostly flakes, but one if them I use for burley based aromatics.

My First Impressions on Some Flake Tobaccos

C&D After Hours Flake: The tin note of this blend was a little unpleasant at first, however as it breathed it started to smell better. At first, the flavor I get is of pure Virginia flake. The topping peeks in every now and then to remind you that it is still there. I enjoyed this blend more and...

    My Latest Addition

When a friend of mine sent me the Groupon deal for BnB Tobacconist, I couldn't resist spending some of it on a new Savinelli Trevi 626. The first smoke was a good one, can't wait for it to start building cake. to fill up the rest of the order and get free shipping I got a tin of each...

    Building A Fire Pit Area

I built my fire pit a few years ago... I used stone to build the ring, it has a nice natural look.

    What's Your Go-To Web Retailer?

I've only ordered from 4noggins and P&C, both were nice experiences. From what I've seen P&C has the best prices for tobacco even with me paying sales tax. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from any of the sponsors here though, I only see good things posted about them.

    Villiger 1888 Mid-Day Replacement

I tried the Danish Black, and while the top note is slightly reminiscent of Mid-Day, it doesn't quite fit the bill. I think some of the issue here is Mid-Day contains black cav, burley, oriental, and virginia. Most aromatics I have looked at online do not contain oriental...maybe that is one of...

What was your 1st Pipe Smoking Experience?

Mine was Christmas 2012, My dad gave me his pipe from when he tried picking up the pipe. We went to the tobacco shop in the mall and I bought a tin of Squadron Leader, a pipe tool, and a pack of cleaners. I smoked a few bowls in a row, all of them gurgled and I was probably puffing away too...
