I second the MacBaren Vanilla Cream Flake, that has become one of my favorites. Another that I smoked recently, was the Nat Sherman no. 314, and it has become a favorite all day smoke. Both of these I will recommend to try out. For something that is aromatic, yet not heavily cased, I would...
Half Irish on my father’s side. Having a cup of Barry's tea right now, but after work I'll certainly have a pint or two of the dark stuff, room temp, or perhaps some Tullamore dew; and of course I'll be taking out the Peterson tonight.
I will second the Magnum Opus, also The Smoker’s Fireside is really nice as well. You may also want to try out the new Crown Achievement that Lane just re-released.
Here is one of my favorites still, one of the first renditions of the Jolly man himself. From the cover of the January 3rd Issue of Harpers Weekly dated 1863.
Not sure how Willow would be for smoking. I use it to make a tincture for headaches. You can boil and reduce it, it is basically the basis for aspirin. I wonder if smoking it will also give the same effects of a light blood thinner ( along the same lines as deer tongue).
I smoked the Bagpiper's Dream, if you want a quality aromatic, that is the one. Room note and flavor are unsurpassed. Burns great as well, but does have a tendency to ghost a bit.
I work full time as resident tobacconist and Executive Account Manager for Cigar.com, plus I work on the side as a military historian when I have the time. The latter, unfortunately does not get the attention it once did, but I got to pay the bills somehow.
There was a fella on here that made a blend called Winter Solstice which was just delightful. Right now I am having a hard time remembering their forum tag / name. If anyone else remembers or currently has this in this rotation please post the blenders info as to credit them for this blend...
I have smoked 3 thus far--7th Ave. Blond, Grand Central, and Harvest on the Hudson. I like the latter two, but the 7th Ave Blond was just too sweet. the other two were quite nice, although again the Grand Central is rather sweet but not sickening. I have to say so far my favorite is the...
I have been doing some extensive research in to making Clay Pipes (your standard variety 18th Century tavern pipe). I am curious, are there any of you out there that have ever done this? Do you use a mold and Gin Press, or make it using some sort of free hand method. Any tips and or...
