    Lazy, Foggy Sunday

It's a good day to relax with a pipe and some nice leaf. Coffee, a clay filled with my favourite smoke; Dunhill Flake. CCR's Born on the Bayou vinyl pulsating great sounds in the house. Hope everyone's day is a chill as mine. Happy smokin'!

    Still Kickin'

Thanks for the warm welcome back all! It's been a hectic time for me with a TON of changes, but life eventually settles down and we enjoy simpler things. I noticed a lot of past members aren't really on here, I think that is in part to the novelty wearing off as well as lack of time. Hope...

    Still Kickin'

Hey pipers! I haven't been on here for a VERY long time and thought I'd drop in to say hello. I see the forum is still going strong and lots of new members is always good to see! Keep 'em lit folks!

Dunhill Flake and OGS (Orlik Golden Sliced)

I've tried PS Twist, and navy flake as well as bullseye flake. The luxury twist is on top in my my books but has more caramel(ish) flavours to me as opposed to Dunhill Flake. Today I think I'll have some Pertersons University for a change up.

Dunhill Flake and OGS (Orlik Golden Sliced)

I have a good stock of these two and I've recently gave up on the Amphora (after almost two yrs). I find I'm liking the flake tobaccos a lot more recently. Dunhill and OGS are my two regular smokes for the last little while and they just seem so much better than anything else right now...

    I'll Give it a Try...

I've read quite a few threads about on here an how it has changed from years ago. I'm not one for perique (anymore) so I thought I would give it a try simce I like burley and latakia. It's not too heavy on the lat but you can smell it from the tin note.

    I'll Give it a Try...

So I was out at my local cigar and pipe shop today satisfying my CAD (Cigar Acquisition Disorder) and TAD. I saw a tin of Three Nuns sitting on the shelf. I hear so much about it and how good it's supposed to be so I pick it up (for a hefty price tag) but I'm sure it will be worth it.

    Lighting-Up Outside

I mainly use a Zippo pipe lighter. Sometimes matches but I smoke outside so Zippo is best IMO.

    Cigar Humidor Question Here

And do you have a website for orders or do phone orders?? I'm still looking for a quality humidor (preferably with 'SureSeal')

    Peterson's University Flake

I've smoke several bowls of this now (down to my last 4 flakes) and I can honestly say I prefer to rub it out. I find it mellows the VA tartness and makes the smoke more creamy tasting. This is definitely a regular in my rotation now.

    Cigar Humidor Question Here

UPDATE: I have done some extensive research into humidor builders and suppliers. I figured out the problem with my humidor. It is the humidor itself. It has a poor seal and a flaw in construction of the sealing lip on the lid. I purchased another one today made by a reputable manufacturer...

    Cigar Humidor Question Here

I'm definitely getting myself some beads or the jelly stuff. They are basically the same product but the jelly is only one way humidification which would be fine for my humi. Thanks again for all the input guys, saved me from making another forum acct..

    Cigar Humidor Question Here

Very helpful info from everyone, thanks a bunch! Yes the cigars were quite dry, crackling when I rolled them between my fingers. The humidor at the shop is only 60% and I doubt it's accurate. With all the talk about the beads I'm really leaning towards those for replacing the green foarm in...

    Cigar Humidor Question Here

I did properly season it. I forgot to mention that in my OP. Before I put a box of MC #4 in there and half box of R&J Coronitas en Cedro couple Upmann Mag 50's the humidity was at 72 for two days empty. The morning after I put the cigars in it dropped to 55%. The gel is helping keep it moist...

    Cigar Humidor Question Here

Thanks for the info guys! Torque, I've read about the beads. They're made of silica similar to those in kitty litter. Silica is poisionous if inhaled or eaten (from what I've always been told) so I would probably avoid them for myself. I did read some info after posting this thread that PG...

    Cigar Humidor Question Here

I know there's quite a few guys here that smoke cigars as well as pipes. I didn't want to have to join another forum just to ask a couple cigar questions so I thought I'd try here first. Here's my situation: I have a BAD sensitivity to PG (Propylene Glycol), so bad in fact I had small...
