    Plastic Pipes

I found my grandfather's old pipe from the mid-to-late 1950's and it was a no-name plastic pipe with a stinger and the bowl partially melted. I did not see a metal insert but the cake could be covering it up. The pipe is not smokable but I keep it for the sentimental value.

Would You Buy 100$ Frog Morton 100g Tin??

Maxsmoke, good purchase for a new smoker. I have over paid for some pipe tobacco but even more for cigars that fell way short of being good. I have searched on-line for two months and have a tin of my must try tobaccos, finally.

Black and Mild vs Pipe Tobacco

I thought bra was short for breast restraint assembly. Hmm

    What's Good Folks?

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes. Those appear to have found beer.

Best place to order pipe tobacco

I agree with litup and Hap on using smokingpipes.com. I have used Iwan Ries as well along with the others mentioned above.

    Aromatic defined?

Funny note that I obtained the 1 oz. (28 gram) sample of Irish Cream last week. I have not tired it yet.

    Aromatic defined?

I find the descriptions at the eacarey.com/pipe-tobacco-cut-types-blends site very concise and presented in an organized manner. I refer to the site on occasion since I am still a cigar smoker and part-time piper.

    Nording chuchwardens

The Nording pipe I just got is a semi-churchwarden. I have had only one smoke in it but the length is great when using an armrest and it is really light weight. The pipe smokes cooler than I had expected and I can store it easily. I would assume the quality would be the same for a full sized...

Does pipe smoke foul a room?

The weather is a factor if I smoke indoors or not. When smoking indoors the woodstove is open and has a fire going in it. So I cover the pipe or cigar smell with a woodstove smoke. Two negatives make a positive.

    Movies with Pipe Smoking Scenes

The scene with Bing Crosby using a pipe to tap on bells just seems to be forefront in my mind. I am not sure if that was White Christmas or Holiday Inn though.

How is rustication done in pipe factories?

    Thanks for sharing the video.

    Noob Naivete Musing

I scored a Rattrays exotic passion the other day. It's like looking for prairie dog in a snow storm. :-)

    Noob Naivete Musing

Searching for tobacco on Google returns a large number of results. Stumbling on a few links reveals the tobacco is from the UK or Germany. The vendors on the few UK sites indicate UK shipping only. When looking I tend to dig down on the Google pages way past page 1 or 2. I may have gone to 20 or...

    Noob Naivete Musing

My point is that starting out has a learning curve. Not only technique but blends and pipes. Tobacco reviews trigger a search for a product I guess. The post was meant to be what it is like, for me, venturing back to pipes from cigars with a bit of humor. I'm not looking for anything at the...

    Noob Naivete Musing

After diving into the tobacco reviews here and noting the rave reviews for a particular blend I would use my google-fu and do a search. The sites for the vendors might have what I was looking for but some sites had complete pages with "Out of Stock" items. I should preface this with my thought...

    Late Starters

Back in 2010 the city implemented a no-smoking ban. I didn't smoke then but the thought that no one could smoke was too much. So I started out with cigars and in 2012 started the slippery slope of pipes, tobacco and all else that entails. The pipe never caught on for me. Now at the end of...

    Keeping it Lit !

My main experience is with cigars and those require a relight at times. Still new to the pipes and finally today the pipe had the right pack and the first light seemed to keep it going. Granted I was in the doorway and when I stepped outside completely the embers really took off, so much so that...

    What did Indians smoke

A very interesting read and surprised at the age of the tools and seeds.
