Thanks, Dave! They look good. I already started on the bulldog. Never had a pipe with a stinger before! I can't believe how much crap came out of the stem, lol!
All of the pipes,
The bulldog, with a little rim cleaning already done.
Yeah I saw myrtle beach was 22, and that's pretty cold for down there! It finally warmed up here to the teens today. I have a firepit, but it's been too cold to even go make a fire!
Kevin, can you suggest that Sutliff run one of these on Great Outdoors? Instead of an Italian woman... We could hear a gruff lumberjack lusting over his pipe tobacco :P just think back to Monty Python... "he's a lumberjack and he's OK!"
The impression I got from Scottish blend was a nice subtly sweet and super mild smoke. I need to smoke a little more to see what all is going on. I like it so far.
Could be oxidized on the inside. Regular cleaning should tell you if its dirty though. Id remove the carbon coat to see whats under there and clean the shank.
Actually, given that it's a NOS pipe, oxidation is a real possibility. Taste like farts?
Ouch. You shouldn't do that anymore.
If it gets hot or your tongue gets sensitive, just set the pipe down. Don't try and be a hero and power through it, lol! My tongue is a little sensitive, but after smoking somewhat regularly it isn't nearly as bad.
I think you nailed it. It is a slightly grassy (hay) tobacco with a noticeable citrus twang. I get a little pepper taste in there too, especially as it drys out a little more. Orlik is one of my go to virginias. Just a solid smoke.
From reading your review I get the idea of what the tobacco...
That's very arbitrary... and disappointing, lol! If I were to spend $200 on a pipe, I'd either get a new Radice or an estate Castello (may be hard to find under $200, but they are usually well under 3).
If I personally were limited to one more pipe for 5 years. It'd be expensive as hell...
