Bought a "Poisonous" Pipe This Weekend

Taken from the U.S. Forestry Service website: IMPORTANCE TO LIVESTOCK AND WILDLIFE: Mountain-laurel's leaves, buds, flowers and fruits are poisonous and may be lethal to livestock and humans. However, white-tailed deer, eastern cotton tails, black bear, and ruffed grouse are known to utilize...

What to expect from a *.com estate pipe?

Just wanted to update. The site-sponsor offered to pay for shipping, both ways, and reclean the pipe. I chose to do the cleaning myself, mainly because I have a cleaning method I want to try. So, all is well with sponsor (who will remain nameless). Good to know our site-sponsors are willing to...

How To Properly Light A Pipe

My local B&M recommended the IMCO pipe lighter with the 45-degree angled flame. I highly recommend it for indoor and non-windy days. I plan to get a Thunderbird insert for outdoor use and traveling. Thanks for that tip.

    Stupid warning labels are stupid

Now, Lawrence ... you forgot to warn people to be sure to poke a hole down the center of the mug-cake before they poured in their coffee. After all, a very serious burn could result with that hot coffee splashing all over the place.

    New Sponsor - TobaccoPipes.com

I recently shopped TobaccoPipes.com when I was looking for an estate. Didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but was very impressed with their selection. Glad to see them become a sponsor.

What to expect from a *.com estate pipe?

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Since I was assured in both writing & on the phone that the pipe would be ready to smoke when I received it, I took cigrmaster's advice and contacted the site-sponsor to see what remedial action they will offer. I'll post an update once I hear back from them.

    Today At The B&M

Really nice score. Wish my only available B&M would do some lagniappe. Anything you walk out of there with will cost you sticker-price. Make sure to tell your B&M operator how much you appreciate the extras.
