    Empty Tins

I've kept a couple of hinged Solani tins for specific uses, but otherwise they all get thrown out. I just don't need them for anything.

    Pipe Dryer

One of these, I assume. Haven't seen one in ages.

    Scratching the Penzance Itch

Nice to know. Thanks for the information. Back when I smoked it, I though GLP Westminster had that same old mustiness as Penzance.

Off of Social Media, didn't realize forums were still a thing

I think people are misunderstanding. The issue in Vegas is a lack of moisture in the air, not an abundance. The humidity in Vegas affects my humidors more than my pipe tobacco. I place all of my opens in mason jars, so the dry air does not have an impact. I guess the takeaway is do not smoke...

    West Coast Pipe Show Pictures

The JT Cooke estates were at the Investment Grade Pipes table, owned by Justin Duval (I think). Pretty sure he had the largest bank of tables at the show.

That last little bit of unused tobacco....

I will smoke a partial bowl if it is enough to bother with. If it's not, I throw it away.

    E. Hoffman's Spillman Mixture

It is spelled Spilman. I think that search will get you results.

    JackKnife Plug-still don't get it

I don't care for it either. We all have different tastes.

    SmokingPipes.com is doing it right

Smokingpipes.com is great and I do more business with them than any other online retailer. There are others that I really like (Al Pascia, for instance), but I always gravitate to SP.com. I do not understand online shops that don't post pipe dimensions. At a minimum, I have to know overall...

    Smoking Indoors: My Ozone/Ionizer Results

I knew that those can cause issues, but never heard a first-hand account of it happening. Thanks for the information.

    Opinions on metal pipes?

I have a couple of Kirstens and like them a lot. They are great smokers, in my opinion, but are different from briars in a few key ways: -- The bowls are quite small relative to a typical group 4 pipe. -- The bowls are severely conical, which means I pack them differently than I do my briars...

    FNG Question - Acrylic stems

No, they do not discolor like vulcanite and require no maintenance, other then keeping them clean and clear of gunk. That's why I greatly prefer acrylic over vulcanite and makers that use it.

Please to be explaining the horn.

If you read the description at smokingpipes.com, you will see that the chamber is only 0.8 in. by 1.45 in. Pretty typical in the pipe world. I think they look great, but I have never owned or smoked one because they look like they would be a pain to light. Plus, I bet the build-up on the top of...

That's really great to hear. Thanks!

    I got an email...

Nice! I'm usually not a fan of colored stems, but that deep blue is close enough to black that I kind of like it. His prices look very reasonable. I would love to see a review once you have put the pipe through its paces, or even a first impression once you receive it and have had a chance to...

    Just one guy's opinion

Thanks for the link to your article, Kevin. I rarely see pipe snobbery, but encounter reverse snobbery on a regular basis.
