    FVF Not Working For Me

I never "got" FVF either........ I've got tins from 2012 that I still hang on to thinking I'll have an epiphany one day. Soaking wet, bone dry, rubbed out, cube cut..... Nothing has produced a smoke I've really been impressed with. I'm more of an OGS and Escudo guy. To each their own!

    Packing Tobacco Slices

I played with all the methods. Quite honestly none of them were worth the hassle in my opinion. Try the cube cutting or fold and stuff, but at the end of the day I found that rubbing out was so much easier and hassle free on most any flake.

Recommendations For First Excursion Into Virginias

Orlik Golden Sliced as mentioned was the most forgiving and best experience for me starting into Virginias. DO NOT dive off into Full Virginia Flake right off the bat would be my best advice. I made that mistake, still a little gun-shy but I'm able to enjoy it now 7 years later.

    First VaPer Blend Recommendations

Escudo and Anniversary Kake were my first two VaPers. The Anni Kake was a little better experience diving in but can't go wrong with either.

About To Give Up On Non Aromatics

Smoke what you like. But take it from me, put those non-aromatics in a jar and revisit them from time to time. You'll be surprised how your taste will change over time. Plenty of the non aros will mellow over time too and give you a different experience.

    SPC Plum Pudding

Not sure about the "film" you experienced...... But Plum Pudding was a very middle of the road Balkan for me. Definitely an enjoyable smoke, but nothing spectacular after all the hype I'd read. Sorry about your bad experience, ship the rest to me and I'll test it thoroughly for you

    Dunhill Caput?

I stockpiled EMP......until I discovered G.L. Pease Chelsea Morning. Anybody in the market?

    How Old Is Everyone

30 years old. Picked up my first pipe at 18 as a freshman in college. Bored and too young to buy beer I guess

    Dunhill EMP Equivalent

Try GL Pease - Chelsea Morning and you'll forget all about that silly EMP stuff

    Rossi "Fat Author" Shape

I have the Rossi Rubino Author and absolutely love it. Will end up buying more for my Latakia blends

    Dipping

Copenhagen user here......as far as "storing" (if there is such a thing) I've always found that refrigerating may keep it fresh for a short period of time, but it tends to dry out much quicker once you remove it from the fridge than it would had it been stored at room temperature. The only blend...

    Favorite Peterson?

My System 317 Egg is an outstanding little pipe. Small bowl but perfect for a relatively short smoke, never disappoints.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2017)

I've got a good 2.5 - 3 hour bowl of Nightcap going in a Boswell Jumbo right now. Working on a smokingpipes shopping cart, trying to find the perfect balance of "blends I'm trying to cellar" to "blends I want to sample"......The struggle is real!

What Music Are You Listening To? September 2017

"The Sound of Silence" - Disturbed........their interpretation is better than the original song IMO. This version blows me away, sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it. Simon and Garfunkel wrote a hell of a song but Disturbed's sound gives it an extra 10 layers of feel and emotion...

    Samuel Gawith Tins

My understanding is that as long as the tin has a good factory seal, the shape makes little difference. Although, I have read in several different threads around here that once the seal is broken the round tins last a lot longer than square. Maybe this is what you're thinking of? The oldest SG...

    Any Source for Bengal Slices?

I had that same thought right after I sent that post...... Set myself up for that one lol

    Any Source for Bengal Slices?

I majored in "systems management" in college (Texas A&M). I can't tell you how many times I dealt with distribution problems that referenced a "queue". I had no idea what the hell they were talking about until I raised my hand and asked during lecture one day. I felt like an idiot until the...

    What's Your Favorite Savinelli Series

I love my Tortuga Bulldog. It's a dedicated VaPer pipe in my rotation. Actually just had a bowl of Escudo in it earlier this evening.

    Boswell Northwoods Price

I enjoyed Northwoods but I got it as a free sample with a pipe I bought. It's a nice smoke but I can't say I see myself calling back and ordering more anytime soon. Not that I didn't enjoy it, I just wasn't blown away by it or anything. I've got too many others I want to try that I'd rather...

    Rossi 8320

I bought the Rubino 8320, haven't hardly put it down since it came in. Love this pipe!
