OMG, I've Done It Again, 12K

Congrats on the very impressive 12k! That comes around to 11 posts per day. Keep it up!

    First Time Trying Nightcap

I'm starting to feel convinced that a particular blend's "nic hit" depends a lot more on the state the smoker's in than the actual nicotine content of the blend itself. I've smoked bowls of Modern Virginia or Early Morning pipe on an empty stomach that made me downright queasy. I've also had...

Smoking to the bottom of the bowl

I could probably count with the fingers on one hand the number of bowls i've smoked down to the mythical "fine white ash", and only one of those was in a briar, the rest were in cobs. Granted, I seem to remember I've only been able to smoke down to the heel with only one light, It's usually at...

And I Bring You The Most Epic Pipe Turds...

This thread is just absolutely brilliant. Laughing out loud with many of the pics

    Royal Yacht Impressions

Royal Yacht is an excellent blend. I'm halfway down my first tin and although I'm not quite as excited as I was when I first tried it (I was almost ecstatic) It is still a blend I really, really enjoy. The nic content is a nice bonus too... I'm starting to get the feeling that although I enjoy a...

So much infamy, hype and hysteria! I'll explain..

Funny thing for me is when smoking cigarettes I will almost never smoke them back-to-back because too much nic gives me the jitters. However with pipe tobacco I can stand pretty much all blends, even on an empty stomach, with a mild buzz at best... All this talk of extreme nic has made me feel...

What Makes Dunhill RY Such A Nic Monster?

I must have grown desensitized to niconite... A lot of people seem to feel this is a really high-nic blend, and although certainly stout, I don't find it'll knock me on my ass, even on an empty stomach.

    Corncob Burnout

It is indeed an original MM then... Was it from a seconds grab bag? As someone previously mentioned, the finish looks too rough even for the natural-finish Pride. I own three and none of them look like that. There was in all probability a defect in the wall of that bowl... It's not a usual...

    Corncob Burnout

That's probably due to a defect in the cob, specially since you point out that the rest of the cob was barely warm, rather than technique itself. As for a replacement, get a genuine Missouri Meerschaum cob. They are inexpensive and the best out there, I myself haven't tried any other cob pipes...

Last One To Try Dunhill Flake

I only just tried it. Perfect moisture from the tin. The first time EVER that fold&stuff produced anything close to useable results for me. I've only smoked a couple of bowls, so i'm not yet completely acquainted with it, but where above someone said "It's a gentler version of capstan" I'd say...

    Perfect Flakes, Where's the Rest?

This. The block is compressed in a square mold, that square block is then cut in slices... Think along the lines of sliced bread. If there are any leftovers, it'll just be the very end of the block where it can't be sliced without crumbling anymore. That probably goes in to the pipes of the...

How Many Blends Do You Have Now

I couldn't tell you exactly since I haven't started using one of those excellent online pipe tools yet (and really should) but I have around 25-30 different blends at the moment, 20 of which are open in Mason Jars and a couple in their original tins. Out of those 20, at least 13 are in regular...

If You Could Only Have One Pipe Shape For The Rest Of Your Life

A straight billiard, without any doubt. Bonus points for saddle bit and blasted finish.

    Questions about CornCobs

My nekkid (unplastered) MM prides are coloring like crazy, specially my oldest one, but i'm not 100% sure its actually color from the tars and oils and not just gunk. In any case, since the unplastered ones can't be cleaned, it's just the color the pipe has taken on from use. I like my cobs...

    Strang Exists

how long did this take to arrive? I'm located in Spain and my order was shipped two weeks ago and hasn't made it yet. I'm starting to get more than a little worried. Stuff getting shipped inside the EU rarely takes more than a week to arrive.

It's official - I'm an expert pipe smoker.

You've been on this board for quite a while now. And you have a fair number of posts. Hence you know that the general feeling in this forum is that pipe smoking is an art that most believe will never be fully mastered in all of its complexity. This is an opinion that is frequently voiced by...

    C&D Black Frigate

I got a rather small sample of this from my local pipe club and have only smoked it once, and loved it. I'll probably smoke another bowl tonight and i'll have enough left for a third. It's a real shame I can't get this in Spain. We're finally getting some of the C&D range, but unfortunately no...

    Vauen Quixx- anyone tried one?

Also, I purchased one of the original pippoos. The idea was nice, but the tobacco was crappy and way too tightly packed, so the draw was incredibly restricted. And by incredibly I mean just unsmokable, plugged-cigar tight. Scorched my tongue and nearly collapsed my lungs a few times then gave...

    Vauen Quixx- anyone tried one?

WHOA. just WHOA. And unavailable. I'm more of a traditional, simple pipe shape kind of guy (mainly straight billiards) but I vow RIGHT NOW never to stop searching until I can find one of these. Specifically in white and carbon fibre. Good GOD!

    How much do you smoke?

I wasn't smoking much at all but as of a month ago i've been ramping it up to around 2 bowls per day. I don't smoke massive bowls, let's say a couple of grams per bowl. At this pace, It'll be around 2 tins per month. Perhaps a little less.
