I need money for more briar so I am offering up this latest pipe if it appeals to anyone. I made a tamper for it that I will include. Photos arent the best. The grain on this pipe is absolutely beautiful, there is one extremely small pit at the bottom of the stem. Hopefully you can judge the...

    Tinsky Briar Kits

For those that decide to take on the challange of carving a pipe. I thought I would use this forum to prop up one of the best people/suppliers in this small community. Mark Tinsky went way beyond expectation in providing me a plateau kit that is sure to provide a fine finished pipe (as long as I...

    Nice Rack/Humidor

Pipe Rack I think this pipe rack is pretty cool, definately worth more than the current bid. If I had extra cash I would bid. Edit: I hope that works a bit better, L.

    Freehand Finished

Well here is the finished freehand. I had a lot of fun carving it. The feel of this pipe is amazing and the briar was good. Only a couple of small flaws that I didnt bother to fill. I used leather dye and finished with carnuba. Your comments are appreciated. Cant wait to get another block and do...

I was in a leather store today buying stain for pipe and they had carnuba cream (for leather). Anyone use it before to buff briar?

    Carnuba What B&M Carries This

What kind of store would have the pure carnuba wax bars? I only need one bar and I hate to pay double for shipping from an internet purchase.

    Freehand In Progress

Well this is my first attempt at carving briar. I still have a lot of work to do but I need some opinions on the shape. It still looks "blocky" to me and I cant decide if I should shave off the corners to make it more round. There is also a chunk missing from the briar (block was like that) so...

    Going to try freehand

Just bought this off the bay, it is old (old briar is good right?) Time to make a pipe. I have zero experience but I have made longbows before so I have files. Should get this thing in a few days (I hope) and I will keep some updated pics posted.

    Homemade Rack Finished

Here is the rack finished, I think it turned out great (but my opinion has bias). I will probably hang it on the wall until I get a cabinet built to set it on. Thanks for the nice comments on the unfinished version. If anyone is interested in having one build pm me. We may build a couple for...

    Shipping Delayed

Pete was supposed to arrived today but UPS had the wrong street numbers, they got mixed up somehow. Looks like delivery tomorrow. Not sure I have ever been so anxious for a package except for ordering stuff from the cereal box that never came when I was a kid (never did get my x-ray glasses)!

    Long shot-HAM radio operators

Any Ham Radio guys on the forum? I got my license several months ago but dont participate much, trying to learn more about this hobby too. Smoking a pipe and listening to the radio is enjoyable though.

    Savinelli Seconds

Local B&M has Savinelli Seconds in various styles that are unfinished (natural briar). He wants $49 for any type. You can see the small fills and other imperfections. This shop is usually expensive on everything. I cant seem to find these on line. Can anyone help me on what a good price on one...

    First "real" pipe ordered

I went with the Peterson 302 FT "smooth" and a tin of Duhill London from PipesandCigars.com . Couldn't afford the Hearth and Home Sampler. Great transacation so far. Since this company is showing a lot of Petersons out of stock I called to confirm. "Heather" told me there was one 302 FT smooth...
