    Sterilizing a pipe

    Got a pipe from a friend who told me it hadn't been smoked more than once or twice. Bit shows no wear and the bowl doesn't look it was smoked at all. what should I do to sterilize it so I can smoke it? By the way I did do a search of site for a similiar question with nothing found. Any ideas?

    Prayers for Granson

    I wouldn't normally ask this,, but my 3 yr. old grandson was admitted to the hospital today with a serious staff infection, they think, they really don't know. The little guy looked pitiful but seems to be holding his own, so any prayers are welcome and appreciated. Thanks Sam :(

    Talk about HOT!

    I live in eastern NC and in the summer it gets hot, but this is crazy, the Temp is 102 degrees and rising, the heat index is 110. I can put up with some heat but this outrageous. Anyone had it this hot lately? staying cool in eastern NC. :crying:

    What determines a good smoking pipe?

    I've been smoking pipes for a while and I have got favorite pipes I like to smoke but is anything that specifically determiines how a pipe will smoke? Is it the make, the briar, brand, price? I cruised the past articles but couldn't find anything specific. :?:

    Small coffee grinder for tobacco

    Has anyone tried a small coffee grinder to grind plug tobacco? I have arithritis in my hands and it is hard to rub it out. Any suggestions? :puffy:

    Hard to open tobacco tins

    Just bought a tin of MacBarens Seven Seas Royal and I am having a devil of a time opening the tin due to arthritis in my hands. It says to put a coin in the edge and twist, trouble is I have a hard time twisting. Any suggestions? :crying:

    I have a small issue

    After being away from pipe smoking for several years, I am having to learn things all over again. Packing, smoking slow, etc. One thing I was never good at was smoking the tobacco to the bottom of the bowl. I don't know why I have this problem and I am sure it is common among new smokers as well...

    I really like the flavor of latakia, but is there a tobacco that has Virginia, Latakia and possibly some casing for additional flavor. I've heard that Samuel Gauwith makes a Navy Flake with Latakia and Rum, I might like to try that if it true.
