    C&D Mold Issue?

C & D has had recurrent issues with mold ever since there was a change of ownership back in 2014 or 2015. I know of no other manufacturer from which I bought tobacco over the last 35 years which had mold. Really, a pity.

    This Ain't Tobacco. I'm Done.

@sablebrush52: exactly, my tins are dated 2020 and more recent. @mso489, @LeafErikson, @jbfrady, @PipeIT, @Tate, @Reggie, @frozenchurchwarden: thank you for the sensible comments & suggestions.

    This Ain't Tobacco. I'm Done.

I have been smoking a pipe for the last 35 years. I started off with inexpensive briars, stuff like Captain Black, Sail and Amphora before moving on with tinned tobacco 5 or 6 years after beginning. Eventually, I have also upgraded my briars for something better. I have tried hundreds of brands...

    Amphora Rich Aroma

It really is a different casing than what Amphora usually offers. Like the Original blend, it's Burley forward. It's worth a try for those who can get. It really should be available on the American market along with the others in the brand. And, yes, the pouch is very elegant looking. puffy

    Amphora Rich Aroma

Mac Baren has reintroduced most of the old offerings about 10 years ago. They even released completely new offerings on the American market once they owned the brand. But Rich Aroma was not part of the re-release. It's very disappointing.

    Amphora Rich Aroma

@Brendan No mate, it has a green pouch. It's cased with beans/nuts. Hazelnut, in fact. It's the same cut as with the other ones. The taste is something else.

    Amphora Rich Aroma

Amphora Rich Aroma is my favorite within the Amphora brand. It's available in Canada and parts of Europe but, yet, it is, to my knowledge, not available in the U.S. despite a wide range being offered. I find this unusual and am wondering if there is someone at Mac Baren who is a member of this...

Peterson Pipe of the Year 2023

If you intend to call someone 'silly', have the decency to quote the post you consider as such. So the person is aware of your opinion. After reading your post I can only say this: you can't possibly be serious. Only Peterson practices low standards of fills on so - called premium and high...

Peterson Pipe of the Year 2023

Not until either they don't respond to my last or they reply something as cavalier. There's a 1 year guarantee and they will have to honor it.

Peterson Pipe of the Year 2023

This does not bode well. I was treated in a very cavalier way. They don't seem to take ownership for the issue. I hope I will receive a better response to my last email. So much for the Peterson 'Guarantee of Excellence' 1 year warranty against any manufacturing or material defect...

Peterson Pipe of the Year 2023

The last three POY I bought were smooth, bled stain and revealed defects that were not visible before smoking. The only one I have which did not bleed has no defects. It's hard not to come to this conclusion, however much I don't want to. Yeah, I hear ya. I bought over 80 Peterson over the...

Peterson Pipe of the Year 2023

Of course, I have written the merchant and explained the issues. I am hoping for a happy outcome. :)

Peterson Pipe of the Year 2023

I am smoking my Terracotta (477/1100) and am now past the first half. For a change, the briar is obviously decently seasoned. It smokes well. It keeps lit. The burn rate is very good. And the bowl doesn't get hot. However, the stain is bleeding. I discovered a sandpit and, so far, one fill...

Who would you commission for a set of two pipes <1K USD (less than)?

Less than $1,000 for two? Ryan Alden all the way. Todd Barnard as well.

    Lakeland Tobacco

They're very different than what you have tried, so far. They're Love or Hate tobaccos. I love them. I found the aromas to be strange but didn't let that stop me. Which is good as I enjoyed them in my pipes. I keep stashing them up when I can. In summary: They're something else. The only way to...

Peterson Pipe of the Year 2023

Yup, me too. That's a hefty price tag. The Supreme silver on Peterson's website site were 610 euros...cray

Peterson Pipe of the Year 2023

Against all my good judgment I bought 2 of the POY A Heritage, 875/1100, yesterday at SPE And a Terracotta, 477/1100, this morning, at SPC. I just hope they will smoke well.
