How many bowls from a 50g tin?

Yes, that would be my answer too. Most tins will last 15 bowls with medium-sized chambers.

    Filters, Pros and Cons

I tried adapter/reducer, but I'm not a fan. I bought 6mm and 9mm ones. On my Vauen Auenland Almar, it reduced the air flow way too much, so I removed it and I smoke it without filter. Also, sometime, they can be a pain to remove from the pipe... One got stuck in a Missouri Meerschaum once. After...

Incense In The Bathroom: A Generational Divide?

1.) year you were born: 1980 (Late Gen-X) 2.) do you have incense or a scented candle in your bathroom? No, but maybe I should! 3.) do you have Norman Rockwell decorative plates hanging anyplace in the house? No! 4.) have you bought sticks of palo santos in the last 12 months? Yes! Not just palo...

On Smoking Slowly and the Benefits...

Great post! Most of my briar pipe bowls takes around 1 hour to smoke. When I got sessions ending around 45 minutes, I knew that I had made something wrong (but sometimes, I think it's the wind that accelerated it). I have one-hour lunch break at work, and because I only smoke on Fridays at work...

Do You Know When the IPSD Deals Will Start?

PAD is real. Last year, I claimed loud and clear that my collection was 100% complete. People recognized the lies, and never believed me... And here I am today... I convinced myself that my MM Little Devil Cutty needed a friend the same size to go on the shelf at its side, so I had to order a MM...

Do You Know When the IPSD Deals Will Start?

Great! I ordered the two pipes I wanted this morning before going to work: Peterson Dublin 120 Rusticated + Brigham Voyageur 123 Rusticated, and I added a Missouri Meerschaum Stubby + Pipe Tools (Brigham "Rocky Mountain" Filters + another PocketJar + another tamper).

Do You Know When the IPSD Deals Will Start?

Last year I made my very first order online during the International Pipe Smoking Day deals, and I think it was around February 15, but I'm not sure... Shipping was fast and my first smoke was right on February 20, the day of IPSD! Now, there is 2 pipes that 'screams my name to be adopted' and...

    Tobacco Pipe Travel Box

Yeah, I understand! that box is not for a lunt for sure -- I have leather rolls, Maxpedition, and a pocket bag for all kind of situations. I made this box to transport the pipes during road trips or travels. It stays in hotel rooms, but I have all I need for when I need it, and the wooden box is...

    Tobacco Pipe Travel Box

Sorry for the very late reply -- most of the time, I'm lurking this forum at work (not logged). The metal capsule is for alcohol to clean up the pipes. This Travel Box was build for when I go on vacation, lets says 3-4 days or 1-2 weeks. I usually clean my pipes after each usage, so if I only...

    Quality 9mm Filter Pipes?

I only have four 9mm filter pipes (Peterson Army Sandblasted 106, Rattray Black Sheep 105, Vauen Auenland Almar Sandblasted, and a Ukrainian Pearwood Churchwarden). I don't always use a filter in them, but when I do, I use the Peterson filters. I might try the Vauen or Savinelli filters soon!

    Logos Matter

That's funny! The Triskele (Rattray's logo) is what made me buy a Rattray pipe! I'm in utter love with anything Irish or Celtic, and I needed that pipe especially because of the logo. But I completely understand that it can be something any kid would made a tattoo of, like tribal lines!

    Am I The Only One?

Yes, I do it all the time. I'm still a new pipe smoker (February 2022), and still unsure of the best way of doing it. What I usually do is that I wait the day after I smoked the pipe to clean it. I take it apart, put a dry pipe cleaner in the steam, then the mortise and draught hole, and after...

    Do You Keep The Box?

Yes, I keep all the boxes. I don't have a lot of pipes, so it helps!

    Tobacco Pipe Travel Box

Thanks! It's very sturdy. If I drop it, that would resist pretty much anything. Also, it's made with a rustic/imperfect look. If it gets 'damaged' along the way, it'll only add more personality. Also, when I travel, it's to visit my family for 2-3 days. It's in my luggage most of the time. When...

    Tobacco Pipe Travel Box

I hear yeah! When I smoke, I'm thinking about stuff, and get lots of ideas for crafting projects! Both crafting and smoking helps me relax, so building practical stuff for fun is a nice way to spend my time doing something else than watching TV!

    Tobacco Pipe Travel Box

I made something that might interest you! Weeks ago, I tried the Maxpedition 'Fatty' organizer for bring my pipes and tools for traveling, and though that even if it's practical, I don't feel it's protecting the pipes that much. I'm a crafty guy so I decided to build something sturdy, in wood...

    ISO Pipe Cabinet Blueprints

That's nice! I mean, It's not perfect (I'm not a professional woodworker) but it looks rustic - which I love - and serves it's purpose! The cabinet is full of pipes (18) now. I have 6 regular pipes, 2 churchwardens, 4 clay pipes and 6 corn cobs. I should post a new picture soon!
