    Show Off Your Innovations

As suggested by OzPiper, here are two of my favourite "innovative" system pipes. The first is the Jima, a plastic and metal body, with a clay bowl The system is a hollow tube, basically: Within that tube is an "electrostatic" filter, basically just a tight coil of wire. It is impossible...

    My New Brigham

I have wanted to try a Brigham for a while, so I picked this one up. Yes it is their bottom rung line...so bottom rung it doesn't even have an adventurous name and is just called System Sandblasted(not as flashy as Voyageur or Tundra, granted ?). But in looking at what was offered for sale, I...

    New Monarch

I just got this Monarch system pipe from eBay. I always wanted to get one, but never saw any in great condition(except on Reborn Pipes, but he didn't sell that one!). This one appears to have a scratch or crack in the stem, and it's pretty dingy, but since I've started refurbishing pipes, I...

    Wally Frank "Immortals"

Has anyone here ever smoked, or owned, one of these figural pipes? There is a Napoleon that I like the looks of, but I'm wondering if they are decent smokers, or better saved as a display piece.

    My Last Pipe

I'll be turning the big 50 soon, and I've decided to buy one last pipe, and then concentrate on tobacco and smoking. Since I don't collect pipes for the sake of collecting, and since I have more pipes than I smoke, I'm going to stick to my decision. I'm thinking about a Falcon. That way, I...

    The "Sirdar" Saga

This is my no-name cavalier after I cleaned it up(I call it "sirdar" because that was the catalogue name of the BBB cavalier I lost) There were 2 issues when I got it: the stem and end cap were oxidised, and someone removed the stem forcefully from the shank, tearing away a bit of the briar on...

    Unbranded Pipes

Just a quick question...if a pipe is simply stamped "imported briar" or "genuine briar", does that automatically mean it is a no-name pipe? And is there any reliable way to find out a maker if there is no name stamped on it? Not that I won't love the pipe in question any less, of course!

    Refurbishing Question

Hi all! I recently bid on a beautiful pipe on eBay and, as so often happens when I REALLY want something, A last second bam bid lost it for me. However, I found another cavalier, not quite as nice, so I got it. It has some light dings(and the stem needs attention), so I decided to use it as a...

    Suggestions

Someone broke into my car today and stole my Grandfather's favourite pipe(amongst other things, such as the radio). I shouldn't have left it in the car, but I just had to run in to the vet's office to get my Dog. Anyway, it wasn't an expensive pipe, but it's one they don't make anymore. A...

    My New Jima/Garland

Finally got my Jima, my absolute favourite type of pipe! It needs a bit more cleaning on the bowl but otherwise it is in excellent shape! I lost my other Jima's(along with most of my other pipes)in a move. So I'm glad to get another one of these!

    The Smoke

Got my mint The Smoke today...and I love it! It smokes like a dream, and the flavour of the tobacco really shines! I'm still waiting for my main find, a Jima, but The Smoke really turned out to be a great acquisition!

    A Crack Question

Hello all! I'm considering buying a pipe. It's nothing amazing or anything, but I like the way it looks. However, there is a small crack on the bowl. It does not appear to go all the way through the bowl. It's not a pipe I would want to spend a lot on getting fixed. So I just want to get...

    Peterson System Pipe

Hi, All! I have a Peterson System Pipe, an XL315. It's still fairly new(3 months or so). Unfortunately, the silver cap has come off. Smokingpipes.com told me they don't know what adhesive is used, and that Peterson probably wouldn't tell me, so they offered to take a look and see if it is a...

    Rose Geranium

Hello all! I'm really interested in trying something with a heavy rose geranium component, as one of my Grandfather's pipes is clearly saturated with it, and I could probably never use it with anything else, haha. From the reviews I've seen, G & H's Dark Flake seems to be heavier with it(is...

    Blending Attempts

I enjoy trying my own blends. I mixed up a Cherry/Crooner mix that I like, for instance. I've been experimenting with a Mixture 79/War Horse Green blend. I've found the WHG adds some extra depth to the Mixture 79. I'm thinking of doing a full tub of 79 with two ounces of WHG

    Hopefully Not a Stupid Question

Sorry if this is a dumb question...I'm not a huge tobacco connoisseur and I pretty much stick to the more simple, old-fashioned blends, and always have. But I'm trying to broaden my horizons a bit. I got a free can of C & D (I picked Toboggan Run)when I bought a Peterson pipe. And it had the...

    Mixture 79 Cherry Brandy

Hello all! I am a big fan of Mixture 79(even the new, less powerful, version), but I recently saw Mixture 79 Cherry Brandy for sale at a few places, and I wonder if anyone here has tried it? Is it just Mixture 79 with a Cherry top? I do sometimes mix 79 with cherry tobacco, so maybe this...

    Hello From Erie, PA

Hello all! Been a long time pipe smoker, though I gave it up for a while. I inheirited my grandfather's pipes recently, so I came back. My favourite tobacco blends are C & D's Visions of Celephaïs and Crooner, along with Mixture 79(and Paladin Black Cherry). I don't smoke English blends...
