    Burley Flake #3

I have a tin of No.3 afraid to try it. I have come to the conclusion all C&D Kentucky is heavily laced with PG. Being very sensitive to this chemical a single pipe will fry my taste buds for couple weeks. GL Pease Jack knife plug had this effect quite gutted about that.

Drucquer & Sons, Loch Ness, April 8th Release Date

sounds great looks like a regular run. I wonder why its sold as a scottish blend? I always assumed a Scottish was like English with some cavendish

    Burley Light Without Bite

Grangerous, every time I see your picture I want to try Granger! I've not had a lot of luck with burleys, they're either too harsh (pegasus) or too flavoured (SWR). There is a burley taste I'm looking for but not found it yet, maybe I'll find it in Granger.

Very Tight Stem - Difficult to Remove

I have a Sav churchwarden that leaks moisture from the shank tenon join. Do you think beeswax will cure this?

Lovely looking pipe, sure it will be a good smoker for you.

    Savinelli "Corncob Pipe"

It's good to try Lakelands in a cob first as they will ghost your pipe. If you like the blend you can dedicate a briar to it.

Pipe(s) That You Will Never Smoke...

Thats interesting to know. I had a meerschaum once and was disappointed it muted the flavours, ended up selling it. I have a savinelli canadian that mutes flavours, I wondered if all canadians do this? I think the long shank absorbs moisture and flavours.

    Pipe Breaking-in

As a fairly new piper (2yrs) I always assumed most pipes tasted horrible when new, carbon coat or not. Now Im starting to wonder, some pipes I have still taste rough. Should they smoke good from new? Perhaps it is the quality and age of the briar.

    G.L. Pease, Where to Start?

GLPease blends are the best. I am slowly going through every blend. I have never found one I didnt like. My advice would be to try them all and enjoy the journey.

    New Pipe Shopping

They look like really nice pipes. I have some Parker pipes which I thought were dunhill seconds. Unfortunately the mortise in these pipes are longer than the tenon, creating an extra space, causing moisture and bad flavours. I wonder if these are the same?

    New Pipe Shopping

Invicta Briars do some lovely pipes. Hand made, I have two and love them. I find they take a bit longer to break in though as there's no bowl coating.

    New Pipe Shopping

Are you kidding? at £20 each at least 7 pipes! I had a Molina once, worst pipe ever. The only good thing i got out of it was the free bg.

    What Was your First Pipe?

No, it got pretty yellow and dirty, so I tried to clean it with a blow torch. It came out lovely pure white but cracked unfortunately. Do you manage to smoke your clays without burning your tongue? They can get really hot. I loved the flavour of the smoke, I guess you need to do super light sippin.

    C&D Folklore

The flavour develops and keeps going all the way to the end. Very masterful blend.
